Through the abstract adaptation of archive footage film reinterprets the expectations and roles of woman and man in today’s society.
In this film we are reinterpreting the theme ‘mobile’ in terms of social mobility and how the perceptions of gender have changed throughout the years in the UK.
Man and Woman of Tomorrow is a story of society conformism and the fight against it. It’s a collage of life stories of people who are trying to be themselves. Either living up to the society’s expectations or getting out of the chains of constructivism. By delving into the forgotten 50’s – 90’s archives and juxtaposing it with current footage film tries to answer the questions of how gender prejudices were formed and what their origin is. We have the unique opportunity to – perhaps for the first time – see and understand the thinking of the previous generations in the UK and how it shaped the minds of the future masses.

W tym filmie reinterpretujemy temat „mobilność” pod kątem mobilności społecznej i tego, jak postrzeganie płci zmieniało się na przestrzeni lat w Wielkiej Brytanii.
Mężczyzna i kobieta jutra to opowieść o konformizmie społecznym i walce z nim. To kolaż historii życia ludzi, którzy próbują być sobą. Albo sprostać oczekiwaniom społeczeństwa, albo wydostać się z okowów konstruktywizmu. Zagłębiając się w zapomniane archiwa lat 50-tych i 90-tych, zestawiając je z aktualnymi materiałami filmowymi, film stara się odpowiedzieć na pytania, jak kształtowały się uprzedzenia płciowe i jakie są ich źródła. Mamy niepowtarzalną okazję – być może po raz pierwszy – zobaczyć i zrozumieć myślenie poprzednich pokoleń w Wielkiej Brytanii oraz to, jak kształtowało ono umysły przyszłych mas.
